This was a card specially ordered by a friend. The inner and outer frames are made using Nestabilities label dies cut on my Bigshot, both tools that I am guilty of not using often enough.
The bird and branches are made using my Stampin Up 2 Step Bird Punch, again a tool with endless possibilities, but not used enough by me.
The flowers are made using various sized daisy punches, with small flat backed pearls in the centre, quite fiddly and time consuming especially as I am not over keen on fluffing up all the flowers to finish the card!
This is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI too dont use tools as much as I should so now tend not to buy them.
i love this card it sings style and class i also have the bird punch and you can also make a sort of orchid looking flower out of the birds boady if you punch out some on double sided card/ paper and then just ink around the edges to highlight them next mould them in your hand to give them a bit of shape so they curl slightly you can then interlock them in a circle at the tail feather end as they sort of slot in to each other forming a circle bend them up a bit and use a glue dot or sticky pad to hold in place the very tip of the tail becomes the stamen of the flower and the beak gives a litle curled detail on the end of the petalshape you have formd ,use the branch part as leaves and the wings ca be made into another sort of flower big love marc

This is lovely Helen, love your colour scheme and the flowers look fab. I think a special nan is worth spending the time on! (I don't have this punch - could you give Marc's idea a go and post it? please!?) xx
ReplyDeleteJust my type of card, personalised and not too fluffy!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a stunning card, so elegant. The recipient is indeed going to be so pleased to receive. Thank you Marc for the low down on how else to use the bird punch, very interesting indeed. I love my nesties as I do my big shot, I tend to use quite a lot. I am guilty though of not using my punches enough. Although I do tend to use my Stampin Up ones most often, especially the window and tab punch.

This is a really lovely card. Thanks for sharing it with us. Maybe Marc could do a guest appearance on your blog with a bird punch flower, made as he describes in his comment? I would love to see how that looks - might convince me to buy the punch. :)
