The matchboxes are quite small, measuring 5cm x 3.5cm, just enough to put in a small chocolate or perhaps some Christmas money.
The Christmas sentiment down the side of the box is cut from a roll of Washi tape from Dovecrafts North Pole range (bought from The Works £2).
The wooden reindeer head was from a tray of wooden Christmas shaped tags also from The Works, (I can’t find them on their website sorry), to which I added a pair of wobbly eyes and a bit of a fringe.
I punched a hole in the top of the box and threaded through a hanger using striped red bakers twine and matching red wooden bead. A tiny amount of faux stitching using a black fine liner pen finishes off the box.
Fun little box - would look very festive hanging on a Christmas tree where family members or friends could help themselves.
ReplyDeleteThe decorations are gorgeous, another one where you need lots of patience.

ps please tell the boys thank you for the Christmas card, I did not think you would have got round to making any this year, beautiful xx
Shame you couldn't get any more of the match boxes as this would have made a lovely hanging advent calendar.

Helen, I am honestly so thrilled and inspired to see your posts popping up again in my blog reader. You are the one crafter I have always found to be an amazing source of inspiration, from using everyday bits and pieces and transforming them into the most gorgeous projects to adding some glitz to basic products to make them extra fabby - thank you again for posting your blog posts! The matchbxes are just so lever, what a lovely gift to bring to someone if you're just popping in for a cuppa or to leave behind on a friend's tree when they're least expecting! :-)
