Popcorn Favour Boxes

Picture 192
A friend asked me to make some little gift boxes for her daughters 16th birthday sleepover, she quite liked the thought of a popcorn box, but also loved the Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punchies she had seen me use on another project.

I’ve used my Sizzix Bigz XL Takeout Box  Cat. No. 655420, for the project, which couldn’t be easier to put together.
Picture 187Picture 189
I’ve printed the card using a free striped digi download design from http://www.scrapbookscrapbook.com/
Picture 191
I printed off five sets of the girls names, and cut them out using the smallest Nestabilities Label No. 4 I had, then layered them on red card.  To make the boxes individual and an extra special memento of the party, I put one girls name on the top of the box, and then added the other four friends names round the sides (I hope that makes sense).

The boxes are finished off with a Martha Stewart butterfly on the top and one of the sides. Done and dusted!

Magic Fairy Drops – Sweetie/Favor Bag

Magic Fairy Drops Sweetie Bag
I love “spotty buttons”, they are so pretty and have been wondering how I could use them in my sweetie bags, then I remembered these Poundland fairy stickers I’ve had for ages, perfick!
Poundland Fairy Stickers
I’ve used a die from Nestabilities Label Set 8 that fit the width of my cello bag.
Picture 049
And as my sister would say “It’s all in the detail.” so I have added a small heart sticker and faux stitching to the back of the topper too

I’ve put 50 grams of drops in the bag and would ask about 75p for them.

Scalloped Squares

This isn’t a finished project, it’s something I made for a friend to put on a baby basket she was putting together.
Felt scalloped squares with name
I’ve used fairly small scalloped and plain square dies from two Nestabilities sets.  I don’t use my Nestabilities half as much as I should because the effect you can get from so little time and effort is brilliant.
Scalloped Squares for name - nestabilities
I’ve stuck a plain square onto a scalloped one, and then added different sized/coloured letters from a Papermania self adhesive alphabet set. I have finished the squares off with faux stitching using a white gel pen and a flat backed gem flower on each letter.
Nestablities scalloped sqaure name
If I had more time, I think I would have punched very small holes on each scallop part to give a lacy effect, but at the time, speed was of the essence!

My Homage To I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

How sad am I? I just LOVE I’m a Celebrity ….. and this year I have a very soft spot for Nigel Havers, as Monkey would say, nom, nom, nom!!!!
Bush Trucker Trial Sweetie Bags
So in honour of one of my favourite programmes I have made some Bush Tucker Trial Bags …. complete with truly disgusting, liquid filled jelly creatures!
Bush Tucker Trail
I can hear my sister saying right now “Helen, you have too much time on your hands”
I'm A Celebrity get me out of Here
Especially as I have found time to decorate the back of the packets as well!

Halloween – Done to Death!!!

Well,  with just over a week to go before Halloween, no one can accuse me of not embracing the theme!  Last year I did a bit, but this year I have really gone overboard, but I blame all the inspiring stuff they have had in Poundworld and Poundland and Accessorize’s brilliant Halloween stickers (which put their Christmas ones to shame!).
Picture 698 Picture 699
These are my last two projects, so you can all breath a sigh of relief ……
Picture 703Picture 704
I’ve put everything together and now hope to make a few pennies to put towards some Christmas stash.

I love to see what goes first and what’s left over …….

Cadbury Miniature Trick or Treat Bag Favour/Sweetie Bag

Cadbury Miniature Trick or treat candy Sweetie Bag
I love my Stampin Up circle punches, but wondered if I could make a simpler sort of Halloween Trick or Treat sweetie bag using my Accessorize stickers and Cadbury Dairy Milk Miniatures and this is what I have come up with ...
Cadbury Dairy Milk Minature Halloween Project
I made a template of the miniature wrapper so I knew what size to cut my “new” wrappers. It was easier to leave the original wrapper on the chocolate  rather than risk ripping the foil and it made no difference to the finished idea.
Cadbury Minature Halloween Candy Sweetie Bag
After wrapping each chocolate, which only took a few seconds (using double sided tape with my ATG gun), I could get on with the best bit ….. the embellishing!  I added a tiny bit of glue to the back of each sticker to make sure they didn’t come off, and then added a few doodles using  black and white gel pens, which really made the stickers pop out.
Cabury Miniature Halloween Candy Treat bag 3
The bag topper is made using a die from Nestabilities Label set No.4, with a bit of faux stitching and a Stampin Up scalloped circle. I just love these stickers …… it’s so hard to let them go!!!

The Cadbury Miniatures were from Home Bargains - they cost about £1.25 and there are 20 in a pack.

Scalloped Square Snowman Card

Scalloped Square Snowman Card
I’ve made this card for Craft Fairy’s  challenge http://craftfairy.blogspot.com/ which this week is to make a card using a scalloped square die. I’ve chosen to use a Nestabilities scalloped square which I have backed it on silver card.
Scalloped Square Snowman Card 1
The snowman is a from a digi scrapbooking set that I’ve just cut out, adding simple decoupage layers for his scarf and small buttons.  The card is finished off with a large  silver table confetti snowflake and snowflake punchies, embellished with blue flat backed gems.

Bingo Ticket Flower Tag

Woooo hoooo, I’ve never taken part in a challenge before …. but Lisa http://craftfairy.blogspot.com/ is having a “Scalloped Circle” challenge and thought I’d have a go!
Bingo Ticket Flower tag
In honour of Lisa’s love of Bingo I’ve die cut bingo tickets on my Sizzix Big Shot, using a set of scalloped circle Nestablities  to make lots of  layers for my flower. I’ve  dabbed the layers with a blue ink pad and then sprinkled it with micro hologram glitter.

The tag is cut from an A4 sheet of a ribbed kraft card.

Flower Collage

This is a bit fancy for me!
DSC00670
It started when I saw a flower made with the stamped image of a watch face as the centre….. that got me thinking, as I have a box of watch faces on my shelf (it’s a long story, but I once went to an antiques fair and a gentleman had a few watch faces in a dish on his table, when I asked how much they were he said “A fiver, but you’ve got to take the whole lot”  …….. the whole lot turned out to be two big washing up bowls full of old watch bits ….. it was a fantastic find.  I used most of the bits at school for collage, but kept the faces).
DSC00671
The flower, made using a scalloped circle Nestabilities die set, had been stuck to the tele on my desk for months as I didn’t know what to do with it, until today …… I have used a spacer and pearl brad to hold everything together.
DSC00673
The wooden heart with music on was meant to be stuck on a peg, for another project, but it sort of went with what I was doing ant the music paper was from some old score books that I rescued from a skip!
DSC00672
This was all made while I was trying to tidy upstairs ….. sometimes I get an idea in my head and just have to go with it.

Making A Sweetie Bag with Topper.

A couple of people have asked how I make my sweetie bags and toppers so I have done a series of photos that I hope will help.
I use a medium sized die from Nestabilities Label Set 4  for the bag topper cut on my Big Shot
Picture 253 Picture 254
I then score it down the middle on my scoreboard
Picture 255 Picture 256
I use tall card cello bags to put the sweeties in and seal it with my Elitech bag sealer (bought from e-bay)
Picture 257 Picture 258
The bag seals and cuts, so I can usually get two sweetie bags from one cello bag
Picture 259 Picture 261
I apply double sided tape to each side of the bag topper
Picture 262 Picture 263
I then decorate the topper, sometimes using my Stampin Up plain and scalloped edged punches. (see Stampin Up link for more information)
Picture 266 Picture 267
….. and that’s all there is to it!!

Two Simple Flower Cards

Sometimes It’s nice to cut out the fiddlefarting and make something very plain, simple and quick.
Picture 122

The flower brads and paper in this card are from the Margo range by K & Co.  I have cut the scalloped square using a Nestabilities die on my Big Shot
Picture 121

The daisy card is also made using a K & Co flower, but I have added a flat back gem to the centre, I am sorry I don’t know the name of the paper I have used though.
Picture 117

I love K & Co embellishments but they are SO expensive, I only buy them from e-bay, where you can sometimes find them at a reduced price or in craft shop sales, which to be honest is a rare occasion!
