I made this card first………
…. but when I started to blog it and looked at the picture properly I realised it was total pants, everything was wrong with it, what was I thinking? So I went back to the drawing board, got my Nestabilities out and started again. I don’t use my BigShot enough, it’s on a shelf with other things piled on top, and I’m just too lazy to get it down to use it!!
However, I now realise that it should be moved permanently to the table adjoining my craft desk because using a scalloped square die cut has completely transformed the card.
The cupcake was from a pack of six from The Range. I’m always attracted to small cute stickers, but often, in the clear light of day they are a devil to use, mainly due to their size and being quite hard to match up to use with other embellishments. It’s a lesson I should have learned by now!

Just back from my hols and doing a catchup. Love your mini book (know what you mean about time consuming, I've only used my bind it all twice!) and the welly cards are fab. xx
Love the scallops...they make a world of difference and seem to go perfctly with a cupcake....lovely colours...Dianne
Sooo true. It's amazing how a small change can totally transform something sometimes. It's also great that you have a good eye for these things and can recognize when something is just not working. Often I will have something amiss on a piece I'm working on, will ask others, and get the stock "I like it." answer. They aren't excited by it, but they can't tell me what's wrong, either. It's great when you find the answer and can fix it!
Definitely a good idea to have your die cutting machine to hand. They really make a difference to your cards and if you've invested in one, shame not to use it. Love the card.
