Second Wedding Anniversary Card

This card measures 6 ins x 6ins and is made using a white, pre-scored card blank from a bulk pack bought from Hobbycraft.

Second Wedding Anniversary Card

I made this very simple card made for my neighbours Kata and Laci on their second wedding anniversary.  There’s not an awful lot to it, I just covered the front with a tiny blue and white heart print paper and then added the wooden numbers (from The Works) and the sentiment using black tape in my ancient Dymo label maker.

I was going to leave it at that, but then I got all fiddle farty by colouring the numbers and adding a layer of glossy accents to them. I also decided to add the little wooden bird embellishments, as I had used the same, but white, on their first anniversary card, I guess now I need to think of a way of incorporating them on their anniversary card for next year.  Faux stitching round the edges of the card using a black fine liner pen finishes the card off.

Charity Shop Bargain–Polly Pocket Hogwarts Castle.

I don’t “do” Harry Potter at all, so when I saw this “castle” in my favourite charity shop in Evesham for just 80p, I thought I would take it, as something to just put in the toy cupboard for when Iris and Bertie come round.

Mattel Polly Pocket Hogwarts Castle

The first discovery I made, when I got home, was that it took batteries and when I put some in it made (awful) noises and parts moved, which was all very exciting and then when I discovered what looked like a tiny Harry Potter figure in the secret drawer in the back, I thought I had better do some research .....

Polly Pocket Hogwarts Castle

…… only to find it was a Mattel, Polly Pocket Hogwarts Castle dating from, I think, 2001. All the figures, except for Harry, a table and a telescope are missing. Needless to say Iris and Bertie love to get it out, but it seems it does have a value, even though incomplete.

Mattel. Polly Pocket Hogwarts Castle

I have been planning on doing some Ebaying for quite a while now, (last time I did, it paid for Eurovision in Stockholm) but this time lockdown got in the way, now, do I add this to the list of things to sell ...... or do I wait until Iris and Bertie stop asking for it ………that is the question!

Little Owl Cards

These cards all measure 5inx x 5ins and are made using white linen effect card.
Owl_Card_3[5]

These owl stickers came from HobbyCraft, but I am not sure how much they cost, I think about £1.99, but as owls are always so popular I just had to have them.
Puffy Owl Stickers Hobbycraft
From the one pack I made four cards, but you could make an awful lot further….
Owl Card 2
…. I’m usually a less is more gal but for once just fancied using my owls with gay abandon ….
Owl Card 4
I've used my Stampin’Up bird punch for the branches and just love the way the leaf stickers from the pack fit perfectly over the leaves of the branches, giving extra dimension and bling.  It’s also nice to use up a whole packet of stickers at once … I have far too many half used packets in my drawers.

Bird With Musical Background Card

Bird with Music background
I’ve had these bird stickers for ages, bought from a seaside pound shop.
Bird Stickers
All I have done is stuck them on some old sheet music rescued from a skip, which I have mat and layered on gold mirror card.
Bird with Music card a
Both cards measure 5cm x 5cm and are made using Papermill ivory linen card.
Bird with Music Card
You may be thinking to yourself, but there are three birds on the sticker sheet ….. there were, but I made such a pigs ear of the what should have been a third card, that it all went into the bin!

Little Mermaid Cards

Three cards today all measuring 5ins by 5ins and made using white linen effect card.
Mermaid Card 2
I am sure I was a mermaid in another life or if I wasn’t I will be in the next!  These cards are made using hard plastic bubble stickers from Poundworld.
Poundworld Stickers
From one pack I have made  three cards, with a few stickers left over, which is a good return for my money.
Mermaid Card 1
The blue background doesn’t show up very well in the pictures, it’s a glitter card that looks like the sky but which works equally well as the sea. However it is a “bum” to glue anything to …….
Mermaid Card 3
….. so I have used Ranger Glossy Accents to add some extra gumption to the stickers, which has worked very successfully.  The final touches are made using either clear flat backed gems, or sequins with a gem centre.

Teddy Card

This card measures 5ins x 5ins and is made using white linen effect card.
Picture 051
While I was in the Czech Republic a couple of months ago I managed to find a couple of packets of these stickers for about 50p a pack in the local tobacconist! They are printed and layered on acetate and are very sweet.

A lot of the stickers I buy are often too small to use singly and would be lost on their own on the size of cards I usually make, but in a group of four they look pretty OK!

Show Jumping Cards

Both these cards measure 5ins x 5ins and are made using white linen effect card.
Show Jumping Card 1
I don’t usually buy horsey embellishments, but I thought these foam stickers from Poundworld  looked fun, and might appeal if I added them to a couple of cards in my box at work.
Showjumping Card
I only got two cards from the one pack but I shall be very interested to see if they go.

Two Sheep Cards – For the Sheepish

Picture 018
Two cards today made using 3D foam embellishments I found in Poundworld.  I love Poundshops, you never know what you are going to find, BUT you have to buy what takes your fancy there and then as they very rarely have the same crafty things in again once they have sold out. Poundworld 3D Foam Stickers
When I  am making up a batch of cards like this I don’t often put a sentiment on them, that way they can be used for all sorts of occasions or just as a notelet.
Sheep Card
I’ve used pretend grass, the sort they use on model railways, for a bit of texture and extra interest.

Cards Using 3D Stickers.

Little Girl with Christmas Tree Christmas Card
I have see these 3D embellishments in crafts shops and I think they were priced at about £1.99 for 4, so imagine my excitement when I found them on Penkridge Market for £2.25 for 8, which works out at 28p instead of 49p each.
Picture 729
The designs are quite sweet and a little bit different from what I usually use on my Christmas cards – I don’t think I’ve ever used cutesy children before!
Boy Sledging Christmas Card
I’ve used scraps of paper for the backgrounds but  can’t remember the name of them.  Though I think that the burgundy and white is a Papermania Christmas paper.
Little Girl Skating Christmas Card
What I like about the stickers is that they are already embellished with small gems etc. which it what I would usually do, so it’s saved me a lot of fiddle fart.
Snowballing Boy Christmas Card
I wish I could do cards like other bloggers with lots of fancy cut layers, borders and all the fiddly twiddly bits, but I wouldn’t know where to start …..
Skating Girl Christmas Card
……. However I might just set myself a challenge of studying someone else’s template and having a go. Watch this space ….
