Popcorn Favour Boxes

Picture 192
A friend asked me to make some little gift boxes for her daughters 16th birthday sleepover, she quite liked the thought of a popcorn box, but also loved the Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punchies she had seen me use on another project.

I’ve used my Sizzix Bigz XL Takeout Box  Cat. No. 655420, for the project, which couldn’t be easier to put together.

I’ve printed the card using a free striped digi download design from http://www.scrapbookscrapbook.com/

I printed off five sets of the girls names, and cut them out using the smallest Nestabilities Label No. 4 I had, then layered them on red card.  To make the boxes individual and an extra special memento of the party, I put one girls name on the top of the box, and then added the other four friends names round the sides (I hope that makes sense).

The boxes are finished off with a Martha Stewart butterfly on the top and one of the sides. Done and dusted!

Quickutz Silhouette Gift Box

Silhouette Quickutz Box Download
This is one of my favourite boxes, downloadable with subscription from Quickutz Silhouette.

It couldn’t be easier to put together and it looks quite classy when finished.

I love that the slider band keep it all together. I have made several of these for small presents with a couple of lacy hankies inside.
K & Company Grand Adhesions
I’ve decorated the slider with a K & Company Grand Adhesions 3D sticker. They usually cost £4.99, way out of my price zone, but I got these for half price in the summer in a garden centre sale!

Halloween Scary Skeleton Hand Favor Box

Halloween Scary Skeleton Hand Favor Box
This is the first thing I made with one of my Poundworld scary skeleton Hands.
Papier Mache Box
The box is paper Mache from Hobbycrafts, I bought a whole pile of them when they were reduced to 49p for an assorted pack a little while ago.
Halloween Scary Skeleton Hand Favor Box 2
I’ve coloured it with the thick end of a black promarker pen, then punched two holes on either side to thread some cord through to make “handles”

The final touch is a flat backed gem stuck on the wrist.  Soooooo creepy but might appeal to a little boy to keep his treasures in!

Book of Spells Box

 Book Of Spells Box 9
There’s been a bit of natter on my chat widget about ‘scary hands’, so I have bought this post forward to show you what we’ve been on about and what I have made with my hands, if you’ll pardon the pun! ……
Picture 424 Picture 425
Someone had asked on UKScrappers if anyone knew where to get scary hands from, and I realised I’d seen them in Poundworld and had dismissed them because I couldn’t think what to do with them, DOH!
Book of Spells Box So I went back and had another look.  There are ten in a pack and are a rigid plastic, where originally I thought they were rubbery.
Book of Spells Box 3
Once I got them home my mind went wild, and as you can see I have come right out of my crafting comfort zone for this idea!
Book of Spells Box 4
It’s basically a box in the shape of a book.
Picture 508
I made a tray in gold card and a book cover in a really thick black card, getting it to be a perfect fit took several attempts, and made my gums itch when I couldn’t get it right!
Picture 511
Before I stuck it altogether I added a ribbon for a page marker, down the spine on the book.
Book of Spells Box 5
The rest was just a lot of fiddle farting, I used a hot glue gun to stick the hand on a strip of gold card to make the clasp. The strip came round from the back, joining the front and back together and then onto the front. I glued Velcro tape on the back of the foil under the hand and on the front to the box, to keep the clasp in position. (I hope that makes sense)
Book of Spells Box 6
I also hope the pictures help to show you how I’ve made it  …….. as it’s a bit hard to describe.
Book of Spells Box 7
I’ve used craft chalk to age the book, rubbing in shades of brown, green and mustard with my fingers, plus translucent micro glitter for a magical sparkle. I’m not sure if I could make the box again ….. it could be a one and only!
