Doodled Birthday Cake Card

This card measures 14cms x 14cms.
Doodled Birthday Cake Card.I’ve made another doodled card, it’s very basic I know,  but hopefully,  once I become more confident with my drawing and with all the computer gubbings that creating a download involves, I will get a bit more adventurous.  This is quite a learning curve for me …… but it’s certainly keeping my brain ticking over!
I’ve created three free jpg. files which you can downloaded and can be resized, printed off and put into whatever project you use them for …. the designs are doodled, so please do not expect that lines are perfectly straight etc.
I have also created a pdf file that can just be printed off and then cut out, which has an extra candle design on it.
its all fiddle fart*Although I have created the files,  I cannot really help with any technical problems you have downloading or using them.  I would also ask that although the files are free,  they are not used as part of a competition or challenge without my prior permission*

Christmas Bauble Card(s) ….. Dabbling and Doodling With Ideas For The Coming Year Maybe?

While I was in London visiting Marc, he nagged me something rotten about  “doodling” more and his partner Rick told me that I should work on more card ideas that used my own writing ….. so what’s a poor girl like me gonna do?
Doodled Christmas Bauble CardWell, I listened, because they both really do know what they are talking about and when I got home I doodled a bit and then I did a bit of writing ….. formulating a couple of ideas ……
The first idea/doodle (above) was very rough and only took a couple of minutes ….. but even before I finished the last dab of ProMarker,  the next progression was in my head …..
Christmas Bauble Card….. what if I doodled it all again, more carefully but added the baubles separately to add dimension?
Doodles Christmas Bauble CardThat’s as far I have got with the bauble idea, there is still a bit to go with it, it  needs a few tiny stars in the branches, and something else … I just don’t know what yet  …. but before I finished it properly,  I took off again on a different tangent while my brain was whirring …. this time thinking about Rick saying I should write more on my cards …..
I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas Card….. Again it’s very, very rough …… but a germ of an idea is now firmly in my head …. with all the festive preparations to get on with, it isn’t really the best of times to have a brainwave…. but hopefully over the holiday,  I’ll have the time to work on it some more ….. I want to go back to the real basics and have a go at card making with just a blank card, a pen, a notebook containing jotted down phrases, sayings, lines from poems or lyrics etc. that catch my fancy and a few very simple embellishments!  Think of all the money I could save …. watch this space!

Very Simple Holly Card

This card measures 5ins x 5ins
Simple Holly Christmas CardThis card took me about ten minutes to make.  I decided to keep things really simple and write sentiment myself, adding a little bit of doodling round the edges.  I then mat and layered it on silver mirror and white card, before finally putting it in the centre of a card blank that I had covered in a holly design paper,  using foam pads for extra dimension  .
Simple Holly Card. The final touches were made by adding three small red flat backed gems to each sprig of holly,  along with a sprinkling of extra fine Hunkydory Diamond Sprinkles, and two PaperCellar silver glitter self adhesive corners.

Wooden Heart Tags

 Snowman Wooden heart tag 3
From now on, whenever I do a “What’s in my Shopping Bag” post I am going to try and get something made with some/all of the items within a day or so, otherwise I am liable to put things away and forget them until I find them again months later.

I got these wooden from a gift shop on Poole Harbour for 99p a packet of 6.  The idea in my head, when I bought them, was to make gift tags for Christmas parcels, and this is what I have come up with.

I doodled on both sides of the tags with while gel pen.

And then added Christmas buttons from a whole pile I got several years ago from the US. I cut off the shanks and used a glue gun to attach them.
Decorated wooden heart tag
A few tiny clear flat backed gems complete the effect.

I am thinking that I may sell a few of these, so I have put them on a simple backing card (as above) and then in a sealed cello bag to make them look a bit more professional.

Snowman Fridge Magnet

Picture 571
I don’t like to throw anything away.  I’ve had these frames for ages as the remnant of these little boat embellishments.
Picture 575 Picture 537
I’d used the boats for another project and I was left with about six empty frames, then I had a festive Ulrika moment …… fridge magnets!
Picture 573
I’ve used snowmen buttons I’ve had for years and coloured bits of them in with a Sharpie Pen then put them on a background I’ve made using scraps of white glitter and turquoise Bazzill paper with a few falling snowflakes doodled with a white gel pen. I’ve also added a bit of doodling to the frame and some small silver stars.

I’ve added two pieces of HobbyCraft magnetic foam sheet on the back.  That’s it!

Sorry about the "random" cotton bud ..... it's intended to give you an idea of size!!!

Retirement Card

Market Stall Card
This is a card I made for a colleague at work whose mum was retiring as a market trader.
retirement Card
I used an ice cream booth Quickutz Silhouette download design for the base of the stall and trimmed bits off to get the right shape, then I cut out random box shapes using Bazzill papers and doodled on them to look like items for sale. The card was finished off with hand written signs and price tags..

The Art of Fiddle Fart At It’s Finest – New House Card!

Picture 025
I surpassed myself today fiddle farting!
The houses are made using a small house punch (I think it came from Hobbycrafts) – but it wasn’t enough for me to just stick them onto a blank card, no, I had to doodle the details on each one using a very fine liner pen  and then colour them in very roughly with pale colours from my Whispers pen set!
house punchHouses
….. this was after I stuck a small panel of card behind each house so I could have a door to colour in as well!
House background
I also made the back panel using two strips of textured  paper.

To finish the card I added a few clouds in the sky using a white gel pen and a fence, using a black fine liner pen.
