Dragonfly Card

Dragonfly Card
Given the choice on a card I much prefer dragonflies to butterflies, I don’t know why. … All the scallop punched squares are made using papers from My Mind’s Eye Stella and Rose 6” x 6” stacks, my very favourite papers of all time!

The small brass dragonflies came from e-bay.

Pussycat Card

Accessorize Pussycat Card
This card measures 5ins x 5ins, but if I made it again I think I would change it to 4in square instead.
Pussycat card
I’ve used puffy pussycat head stickers from Accessorize (£1.75 per pack) and mounted them on small plastic, pastel coloured mosaic squares that I was given a while ago, which were just the  purrfect size for what I wanted!

Little Patchwork Cakes Card

Mini Cakes card
This card uses my 9 scalloped square template – ideal for using very small stickers.
Patchwork Cake Card
This time I’ve used a packet of cake stickers I bought from Tesco ages ago.  I think they cost £1.
Patchwork Cake card 2
All I have had to add is a small flat backed gem to each cake.

So Many Bags …….

So Many handbags Card
The little handbag stickers come from Mei Flower bought from NEC Hobbycrafts (they also have an on-line shop)
So many handbags Card 2
There’s not a lot to this card but it is ideal for a girl who can never have too many handbags!

Accessorize Heart Sticker Card

 Accessorize heart Stickers 1
The thing I like best about these Accessorize heart stickers is that several look like a Kath Kidston print.  I wish they would do a whole packet of just that design.
Accessorize Heart Stickers Accessorize Heart Stickers 2
I’ve used my 9 square card template to make the card as it is ideal for using such small stickers.
Accessorize heart Stickers 3
From one packet of stickers costing £1.75, I managed to get 7 cards (though there are only 5 in the photo), which isn’t bad going.

Meow – Patchwork Cats

This is a design I use quite a lot, especially when I am using small stickers.
Meaow
These cat stickers are from Paperchase (£1 a packet)

I have punched 9 small squares in three colours  using a scalloped punch and then stuck them onto a larger white square which has been mat and layered on silver. A few dots here and there and a bit of faux stitching finishes off the card.

Needlework/Sewing Card

This card measures 12.5 x 12.5 cms.
Sewing Card
The idea for this card came to me while rutteling about in a bag of brass charms that had been given to me.
Needlework Card
I’ve used my X-cut 1in scalloped square punch and paper from a Papermania  Signature Blueberry Hill pad.
card for a sewer
I’ve gone a bit mad on the faux stitching in a light brown Marvy le Plume fine tipped pen, but I think it works with the theme of the card.

A Very Bejewelled Card

Bejewelled card
I’m not sure if this is a Christmas or Birthday card, I reckon it could be used for both!
Picture 043
I’m trying to use up several packets of these embellishments that I have had for ages as part of my economy drive!
 Bejewelled card 3
I’m not too sure if there isn’t just a little too much bling on this card though, I’ll put it in my box and see if it goes.

Beep Beep Card

Beep Beep Card 3
These stickers are so cute and I thought they would be great for boys cards, something I don’t make a lot of. The stickers are made from a felt type fabric and cost 99p a pack.
Beep Beep card
I’ve used pages from a road map book that was free with one of the daily papers for the background paper cut with a scalloped square punch because the proportion of the print is perfect with the cars.
Beep beep Card 4
The card is finished by mat and laying  the centre part on silver card.

Halloween Card Using Accessorize Stickers

Can you send cards for Halloween?
Halloween Card using Accessorize stickers
Yesterday I showed you my Halloween sweetie bags using the new  Accessorize Trick or Treat stickers  and as I was making them I thought how brilliant they would look on my nine square card.
Halloween Card using Accessorize Stickers 1
I just love the combination of black, purple, orange and lime green together.
Though there is quite a lot of “stick” on these stickers I tend to add a dab of glue on them, in the past a couple of stickers have come off, and that doesn’t look very “professional”!

Hearts on Printed Words Birthday Card

patchwork hearts using pages from book
I’ve used an ivory linen card for this design as it is subtler than white and then have mat and layered on gold.
Patchwork hearts
The scalloped squares are punched out from the pages of an old weathered dictionary and the black faceted hearts are from Hobbycraft.
A card for someone who loves words or reading?

Patchwork Butterfly Birthday Card

 Patchwork Card
Another simple card using my nine square layout.
Close Up of Butterfly patchwork Card
I’ve  used an assortment of punches to put it all together, including my new Martha Stewart punch.
Picture 014
I’ve  used Bazzill paper for the punchies from a stack from DCWV
Butterfly Patchwork Card
Small flat backed pearls and gems complete the design – sorry about the wet glue, I am always too eager to get things blogged!
Extra Info:- The card blank measures 5.25 x 5.25ins. When I am making the middle panel I glue the scalloped squares on a rough square first and then trim around it by eye on my Dhale cutter so it looks evenly centred.
The scalloped square punch measures approx 2cm x 2cm and is by docrafts Xcut.

Daisy Birthday Card

 Daisy Card
A very simple card.

I just love the effect of flowers on a background of printed words.
Punched Daisy Card
This took just minutes to make.

Cream and Black Patchwork Butterfly Card

Butterfly Patchwork
I know I keep coming back to the same card layout, but I love experimenting with different papers and embellishments to see the different effects I can get.
Close Up of Butterflies
I love using papers with a word print.  I have used a mixture here, one is a scrapbook paper Craftshouse -Allsorts in Aniseed (CWAL06), and the other is taken from a really old dictionary I got from a car boot sale, the pages have really aged beautifully and the paper is quite delicate to use.
Patwork Butterflies
I have used an ivory linen card as it more subtle than white and have added small flat backed pearls to the butterflies for texture.  The butterflies have been punched using the Martha Stewart butterfly trio punch.

Card Made Using Punches

Picture 228
I won a competition in Quick Cards Made Easy with a card very similar to this.
The background squares are hand drawn and coloured using pastel Pro Marker pens. The shapes are  made using a variety of paper punches, I like to double layer them for a 3D effect and fluff them up a bit (but these seem to have gone a bit flat!).
The tiny gem and sequin embellishments used to decorate the punchies are nail embellishments from Poundland, just the right size for very small work.
