Caterpillar Peg Fridge Magnets.

Caterpillar Fridge Peg Magnets
I can’t pretend that this is my idea, I found it on this brilliant site http://www.skiptomylou.org/2009/05/18/caterpillar-clips/ and just had to have a go.

Using pegs, small pom poms, wobbly eyes and a strip of self adhesive magnetic tape on the bottom, how simple? These would be brilliant for children to make for presents for Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles etc..

Mini Jotter Calendar Fridge Magnet

I’m still playing with the magnets sent to me by Jonathan at First4Magnets.
Mini Jotter fridge magnet. calendar
I wanted to try to make a jotter fridge magnet after finding a pack of ten 10cms x 7.5cm  notebooks in  Poundland. All I have done is cover over the front  with some self adhesive blue and green DCWV papers to make the front a little more substantial  adding a little decorative border to brighten it up. Then I thought why not add a calendar tab as well, never a bad thing to have on the fridge and low and behold it fit perfectly across the front.

I’ve added a neodymium magnet to the back, and boy does it have some pull, this is one fridge magnet that won’t get knocked off!

Fridge Magnet Calendar Notebook
This is an idea I want to develop further,  later on in the year when I will be looking for ideas for calendars to give as small “fairing” Christmas presents, especially as I think I may have done my coaster/beer mat calendars to death!

Penguin Peg Fridge Magnets

Anita's 3D laser stickers. penguin design
I love these Anita’s 3D laser penguin stickers (99p per pack) and I’ve enjoyed the challenge of making  1in x 1 in embellishments with them.

The fridge magnet base started out on  this Christmas card hanger from Poundland, bought last year but never used.  I know I could have made this all from scratch, but for a pound the hard work has already been done for me, The pegs are a perfect size (smaller that normal pegs) and if I’d found them in a craft shop they’d have cost a lot more than a pound!

I made a template from the original printed square and then made a little background for the penguins using glitter paper and blue card with a bit of faux stitching and snowflakes using a white gel pen.  Silver star sequins complete the effect.  I’ve stuck small round magnets on the back of the peg (these have been taken off other magnets that I have used as embellishments on some of my cards).

Snowman Fridge Magnet

Picture 571
I don’t like to throw anything away.  I’ve had these frames for ages as the remnant of these little boat embellishments.
Picture 575 Picture 537
I’d used the boats for another project and I was left with about six empty frames, then I had a festive Ulrika moment …… fridge magnets!
Picture 573
I’ve used snowmen buttons I’ve had for years and coloured bits of them in with a Sharpie Pen then put them on a background I’ve made using scraps of white glitter and turquoise Bazzill paper with a few falling snowflakes doodled with a white gel pen. I’ve also added a bit of doodling to the frame and some small silver stars.

I’ve added two pieces of HobbyCraft magnetic foam sheet on the back.  That’s it!

Sorry about the "random" cotton bud ..... it's intended to give you an idea of size!!!

Last Minute Magnetic Fridge Calendars

Bee Calendar
Aghh, I remembered I had a packet of unused calendar tabs in one of my drawers and that if I didn’t do anything with them quick they would be of no use.
Ladybird calendar
So this is what I came up with, I made a couple of each design
Mouse Calendar
I covered blank beer mats with American Crafts paper from their “Kids” range. I’ve had  the wooden embellishments and mini bulldogs clips for years, and as I am on a New Year’s economy drive I am dead chuffed I have used them at last.
Mushroom calendar
I have stuck a magnetic strip on the back of each calendar.
I got the mini bulldog clips in assorted colours from E-bay quite a while ago but I have found these  (pink)) which are available at the moment (02.01.10). The gentleman also has red ones which would be ideal for Valentine projects - in fact while I was there I got me a box!
