Wednesday’s Work In Progress

Work In Progress - Lobster Net
This was a Christmas present from my husband, it’s for me embellish and make more nautical for the garden.  I am not quite sure where to begin, so I am Googling for ideas at the moment.  I have some seashells and a drill, so that’s a start ….. I think I need some star fish and some crabs …… any ideas are very welcome!

Could you possibly use some clear Christmas baubles and dye them a darkish green or brown (like old fashioned glass bottle colours) then using string make nets to contain them so they look like the old glass bouys. They would catch the light to add a bit of twinkle.

ooh I'm sure it will be beautiful when you're finished! What happened to the awesome hat picture of you?!! I love the new one, but just doesn't make me giggle like the old one ;P

If its looking like it might be heavy - fill the center with lightweight polystyrene balls/shapes/packing so you are only using your precious shells and other stuff on the outside bit that gets seen. (Hard to tell how big it is)

look out for more shells and the floats sound great some drift wood plastic crabs and fish (kids toy shop) glue and wire these around the collers of the net top and bottom then hang the net horizontaly put a few more shells ect inside then photo copy or print out some fish seahorses jelly fish ect out lines in different sizes on to printible acertate and colour in with perminant ink pens cut out punch a few holes in so you can hang them from the net with fishing line so you have a sort of mobile effect you can weight the lines of fish ect so they hang down with a shell crystal drift wood ect on the end if you have any small mirror tiles taken from a cheap christmas bulble you can glue these back to back as spacers inbetween the fish on the line these will catch the sun light i have some if you need any just a thought big love marc
