A Change In Blogging ….

waterlily
I only have eight scheduled posts left to blog, but, rather than come to an abrupt and final end, I have decided to post on Fridays only to see how it goes.  I have to be truthful and say that I really don’t have the enthusiasm or fire to craft or blog any more, but by posting on a weekly basis I am hoping that it will afford me the time to see if my momentum does come back.  I started blogging on 20th August 2009, and have written 1,396 posts and not missed one day! (and the same goes for Mums Monkey)  I had been mulling over the thought of stopping on 1st January 2013 anyway, leaving the blog “live” and the ideas floating about in the ether forever, but, I just wasn’t expecting the bite on the bum I received four months ago.
compressed poppiesBUT as and when and if the ideas start coming rest assured they will still get posted if somewhat spread apart.
compressedI hope to continue writing Mums Monkey …. those boys have really kept me sane (!?!?) over the summer, by making me find a funny, quirky or poignant angle on the most ordinary things/occasions in my/their life …. so I hope you will continue to read their adventures …. because their adventures are mine too.
036Let’s just see how things pan out ……..

Hello there-I have enjoyed popping by your Blog and seeing what you have been creating, but it's true after writing sooo many posts and after the recent changes in your life you deserve to slow down a little now :)I hope you do find your elusive Mojo, and that once the pressure of Blogging every day is off you will find the time and enthusiasm to craft again-take good care of yourself :) x

Wise words, Helen, only you know what you want to do, and only you can make tht decision. You have been an inspiration to me and I will be forever grateful. Thank you. Take care xxx

adding to what everone else has said you ahev to do what is right for you....

but I will miss your posts and ideas, I have used many of them for little gifts for 'silly bugger presents' as my mum would call them,

I occasionally take a day off work and go help in the local primary school and many of your ideas are easily adapted into simple craft activities that are easy to manage with hoards of 6-11 years - where will my apparent genius come from now.

So I wish you every peace and success and hope one day you start making your way through your pile of fiddly bits again

thank you

You know what Helen, you shouldn't even commit yourself to once a week - just do it when you feel like it. One week you might be on a roll, the next you might not be in the mood. Whatever, all your followers will still be there and we'll still pop in to see your fiddle farting. You have been a great inspiration to me over the last couple of years - so THANK YOU and TAKE CARE! xx

I'm with all the comments above Helen. Of course I'll miss my daily 'fix' but you must do what's right for you. Odd isn't it, I just realised I'm not a follower - your blog is my first visit each day regardless, straight from the 'boys' blog which I do follow. Off to rectify that right now.

Take care honey, just post when you feel like it.

Love, Di xx

will still come & visit you here Helen, totally agree with everyone else that you've got to do what's right for you.
Thanks so much for all the inspiration you've given me over the last couple of years

I hope you will continue with this blog, as I love popping in and seeing your creations.

I use to post every day onmy blog, but found it too much, so I just post as and when I have something to chat about.

You take care hun.

I echo what's been already been said so eloquently. I will miss you but you need "Me" now so take a well earned rest.
Hope your batteries re-charge sooner rather than later.
take care valerie xx

I have really enjoyed looking at all your ideas. You have often inspired me to have a go at something new. Thankfully your past blogs are always there as a resource. I will keep 'in touch' with you through 'the boys'.
Love and hugs xx

Helen, I love your blog, but that's exactly what it is. YOUR blog. We will all miss regular updates but there's plenty of contents already here for us to mooch through. I too have lost all interest in blogging. Apart from personal stuff I think the hassle of getting photos right and then uploading and writing posts got in the way of my creative mojo. I now update my blog as and when I feel like it and have been a lot more creative since then. I don't feel the need to blog everything I make either. Just the stuff that's relevant to that particular post.I still take pics of all my makes but they are "snaps" rather than edited photo's ,lol. Take care. Di.x

I've been a long time follower of your blog and will miss your lovely creations and fantastic ideas that inspire us all the craft. A blog is for you to use as you want, do whatever feels right, we'll all still be here. Take care and do what you need to do.

I don't have anything to add to the above - you have truly been so inspirational to me & some of my friends - We will miss our daily visits x x x

Totally know what you mean. I had a big gap away from Crafting after I totally lost my Mojo, unfortunatly I lost alot of my followers, but my site is still alive out there and I get a lot of visits each day. You work is fantastic and ideas are fab! But you need to do whats right for you. You've had a real tough time of late and need to take time for yourself now. Take Care Helen! xx

You have been utterly awesome with your commitment to both blogs,so just do whatever feels right for you. You will still be in my blog column so I will see straight away when you have made a new post. I will miss my daily fix - this blog and the Monkeys are the ones that I look at first every day.

Take care

It'll be the end of an era if you stop blogging. But you must do what is right for you. How you ever found the time I don't know!
I've followed you and the boys for quite a while and will think of you often - hugs.

Helen, I totally agree with all that has been said above. I really admire that you have been able to share all that has been going on in your life recently. I will really miss your blog, as the first thing I do when i get in from work in the morning whilst waiting for him indoors to get in is to get inspiration from your wonderful ideas. But you do need "me" time. Hopefully you will continue but if not thankyou so much for all the enjoyment that you have given me since I discovered you. Much love Louise xx

As the others have stated, you have to do what feels good for you. I have used so many ideas from your blog, so thank you. Do take care of yourself. That is the most important thing and your priority task right now. Marg

I agree with the others ... that it is your blog and you know how you feel but berievement does strange things and I know from experience that one does not know how one feels. I lost my husband in 2000 ...3 weeks after my mum ... at first I was organized and seemed in control and then I suddenly could not decide on anything ...even what food to buy. My personality changed and i am not sure I have ever been my old self again. I think your plan to keep Mums Monkey going is a good one and I hope a light appears at the end of the tunnel to reignite your creativity passions again. So many would miss you and I am sure your hubby would have strong words to say ...just blog here when you feel like it and I am sure you will be inspired again.Huge Hugs xx

I echo the sentiments above - just blog if and when you want to, I'm sure we'll all keep dropping by to see if you've posted!
I check on the Boys first thing when I get home from work, they always make me smile and I look forward to seeing what they have been up to.
Do what you feel is best for you, take all the 'me-time' you need until your mojo comes back.

Totally respect your decision to slow things down a bit, and know you will be missed! Love the blog. It's a great inspiration, so (selfishly, I admit) I hope you keep a hand in it.

Best of luck, and I know that mojo will come back to you!

It has all been said so well by others; you have given so much to so many and your inspiration will continue with the fantastic blog posts all ready written that can be reread. Your new path will bring new ideas and interests and those will be right for you. That very popular saying: Cherish Yesterday, Dream Tomorrow, Live Today, does ring true when life takes us in new directions. You won't lose, but rather will gain as you face new horizons and find the direction that works for you...With Much Love and Admiration....Dianne

You don't have to post every day but you will be missed! It's people like you who got me started on card making and give me inspiration. In fact I started my blog this week as I felt so inspired by others I had to have my own! Hope all goes well for you and that your Mojo comes back! Maybe the new Stampin' Up! catalogue on the 1st of October will get your juices flowing. All the best! xxx

Now here's a thing Helen - it's Saturday morning and I automatically hopped over from Monkey's blog after laughing about the pest control. This will be a hard morning habit to break - I'll be watching for any updates though honey as I already said.

Have a good weekend - oooh, and I meant to say yesterday - I'm waiting for some decopatch goodies to arrive and totally blame you :))

Love and hugs, Di xx

I too pop in every day for a crafty 'fix' and your ideas have given me loads of inspiration for which I'm truly grateful. But life has dealt you a horrible blow and you absolutely must take the time to look after yourself and grieve properly. Sending you lots of virtual hugs xx

Helen I can't really add to what's already been said, I love you and your blog and, when i'm awake, will miss my midnight blog hop but you need to look after yourself and take time out for you! We all know only too well life is so cruel and you have been so brave telling us about The Duke but he would tell you to do what you wanted, yes we'll miss you, but we want you to be okay!!

Take care of yourself!

Huge big hugs
Roni :O) xox
