I had Iris in mind when I was making these little pink mouse Christmas tree decorations . The mice are from Dress It Up and so weren’t cheap. I made six ornaments in all (using two packets) and I will probably try to sell a couple, but at present I am not sure how much to charge, £1.25/£1.50?
After halving and cleaning out the walnuts I decided to experiment by baking the white fimo base in the shell, not being sure if it would stick or drop out the minute they came out of the oven, it stuck, woo hoo, win, win!
Before baking I made an impression of the mouse’s bottom (oooo-wer matron) in the fimo to help the mouse fit in the “snow” snuggly.
Once baked I covered the fimo in a light dusting of ultra fine white glitter to give the shell a more Christmassy feel, and disguise any less than white marks my grubby mitts may have left!
I also experimented with a tiny eye screw by which to hang the decoration. The shell was too tough to just screw in directly, so I drilled a hole and then applied a little E6000 glue to the end of the screw to give a real secure fix.
The last thing to do was fit in the mouse, she went in perfectly! I am so chuffed with how well they have worked out, though nothing was complicated, just fiddly due to the size.

oh my word - these are just darling! I would say you can get a fair bit for these - so cute, unique and just perfect!

These are really cute and I'm sure they'll sell well. Little girls will just have to have one once they see them! If the mice worked out at roughly £1 each I'd use that as your starting price point. Add a bit for 'extras' and charge £1.75 minimum!
Iris will love these and even at £2.00 they would sell on your stall because they are one-offs, I would pay that

Hi Helen,
I love these. I would love to buy them from you if you considered making more or even the left over ones you have? I would be more than happy to pay the price you suggest and cover postage of course. I think they'd look fantastic on my Christmas tree. Sorry if this is impolite. Thanks.
Helen, don't dare sell these for less than £2. If you can get them and people want them you must take into account the cost of walnuts, electric, fimo etc and the fact that they are so fiddly to make.
i agree with every one big love marc
