I made this frame to celebrate my lovely niece Emily finally getting the keys to her very own brand new house, without this blooming virus she would have been in there for May!
The frame originally came from Poundland about two years ago, it was in their Christmas sale and I think I paid either 50p or maybe even 25p for it, I forget, but I just knew it would come in useful one day
With an idea in mind I thought that the original string might just be a touch too high, so taking the back off the frame I lowered it by about 1cm .........
....... then I thought some more and decided to change the natural coloured string and pegs altogether for a more lively red to mirror the roofs of the houses I had planned to use.
I simply stuck the houses and trees on a wall to create a sort of shelf.
I will admit to having a few doubts at this stage, was it the craft sticks that weren't quite right, or perhaps the lettering on the mini scrabble squares was too dark ......... however I persevered.
I stuck the craft stick scenes onto the back panel with two layers of adhesive foam tape, so that the back of the pegs could fit behind them.
The punched sun and small red hearts were after thoughts to help draw the house and trees together, and the hearts to add extra meaning to the sentiment.

Ooh, I really love this, what a brilliant gift for your niece. I've just bought a couple of these frames and was wondering what I could use them for. I now have some inspiration, thank you!

I'm glad you 'lost' the pegs and string the end result is so much better.
